BuyAbans - Bug makes Order Disappear from Tracker

E-commerce has made it possible to maintain some normalcy during the COVID-19 pandemic. BuyAbans is the e-commerce portal of the Abans group. I placed an order for a 43" LG WebOS 4K Smart TV. The following day I got a panic attack when I noticed that the order was not in the Order Tracker.

I placed an order for a new TV at about 2:30 pm on Tuesday. At about 3:30 pm, I got a mail that the item was "In Transit". On May 5th, I ordered a hand mixer early morning and got it just after lunch. I thought something similar might happen but didn't.

The following day I checked the Order Tracker. My heart sank when there was only one order, the one that I made on the 5th. What could be the case, I thought. I remembered that the order was in transit the last evening and feared they delivered my order to the wrong address. I checked my card, and I was LKR 125,000 light.

Then I called the Abans hotline. The representative on the phone informed me that the order disappearing after "In Transit" is a known bug. This is exactly why I don't particularly enjoy using local e-commerce services. They run on half baked, sub-par websites. She checked my order ID and notified me that I would get the order that evening.

I got the item delivered to me by 6:30 pm—one more satisfactory purchase. Thank you, BuyAbans! Please fix the bug in your website soon, please.
