Who runs this site

jdeen.com is run by Ziyan Junaideen, an independent software engineer in Sri Lanka. I decide what is collected here and why. Write to me at ziyan@jdeen.com about anything in this policy.

What I collect

  • Messages you send. The contact and consultation forms keep your name, email address, company, subject and message, plus your IP address and browser's user agent to keep spam out. Messages that never become an enquiry are deleted after 30 days.
  • Your account. If you create one: your name, email address, and optionally a password (stored only as a one-way hash), phone number, job title and profile picture.
  • Signing in with Google, Facebook or LinkedIn. When you choose one, that provider tells me your account's ID, your name and your email address, and nothing else. I don't keep the provider's access token, and I can't see or post to your contacts, friends, connections or feed.
  • Customers. Billing details needed for invoices and payments, if you are a client.
  • Visits. Google Analytics measures how the site is used, and Cloudflare Turnstile checks that forms are sent by people. Both set or read their own cookies.

How I use it

To answer your messages, run your account and sign you in, send the emails you ask for (such as sign-in links and invoices), keep the site secure, and understand which pages are useful. I don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Emails are sent through Amazon SES. Files you upload are stored with DigitalOcean. These services process data only to provide their service to me.

Cookies

A session cookie keeps you signed in, and a "remember me" cookie keeps you signed in for up to 14 days. Analytics and spam protection use the cookies mentioned above.

Deleting your data

You can ask me to delete your data at any time:

  • Email ziyan@jdeen.com from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my data". I will delete your account, the sign-in providers connected to it and your messages within 30 days, and confirm by email. Invoices may have to be kept as long as tax law requires.
  • To stop signing in with a provider, disconnect it under Settings, Security on this site. You can also remove JDeen from the provider's own settings (on Facebook: Settings & privacy, then Apps and websites).
