CEB Care App - an Americans envy

Americans have been at the forefront of technological advancements since the 18th century. They conquered the moon 52 years ago, something that will remain a dream for us for the foreseeable future. America has been an example of how to improve things. There is now one aspect we have they wish they do too. That is the CEB Care app.

I am a freelance web and mobile application developer, and all my clients are from the USA. One day, during a conversation, there was a power failure. I opened the CEB Care app and logged a complaint. The client, who was from Colorado, was genuinely curious about what was going on. I described the app, and he told me that he wished they had a similar service in Colorado where they relied on hotlines, which is unfortunate. Such a project is not nearly as complex as the work I do for the client and we ourselves would have been able to build the app. I had one of these rare moments of pride being Sri Lankan.

Bore introducing the mobile app, I would not bother complaining because it is impossible to get through the hotline to an operator. I would drive to the regional CEB office and complain in person, which was faster and hassle-free.

Every business should have an IT solution that helps users reach out to them. It can be a mobile app like CEB Care or a website where the customers can register and use it to report issues, make complaints, make bill payments, etc. It reduces cost by requiring fewer staffing requirements to answer the phone and, most importantly, makes your customers happy. This is especially true during a pandemic.

The efficiency of the Ceylon Electricity Board has drastically improved since the introduction of the app. Kudos to the engineers who developed the app. It not only makes our life easy but also proud.
