Thoughts from my daily grind

Goodbye Payoneer UpWork free funds loading

I started on UpWork in 20010 and back in the day, it was known as oDesk. In the early days of my career, every dollar counted. To save money I always used the free fund loading option which takes about 2 business days. I was happy to wait longer to save on the service charge. Sadly Payoneer is discontinuing this option and UpWork freelancers will only be able to use the immediate fund loading option.

Until UpWork introduced SWIFT transfers, Payoneer played a vital role in my freelance career to receive and utilize funds. The "free" fund loading option has helped me save at least $100 over the last 12 years. I am very happy to pay the extra fees, but I feel sad to see a good old friend go.

Farewell "Free" fund loading! Thank you and I will miss you!

Hi Ziyan,

Up until now, when you received a payment to your card from Upwork
Escrow Inc., we sent you an email with a link to a page where you were
asked to choose a loading method.

Starting September 5, 2022, you will no longer have to go through these
extra steps. Instead, we will automatically load your funds immediately.

As we implement this feature, we’ll be aligning the fee for the immediate
loading of funds from 2.5 USD to 3 USD.

If you typically used the standard loading option, we apologize that we
can no longer offer this option.

Thank you,
The Payoneer team
