MagicKeyboard MagicTrackpad - Not Charging
I love how well Apple Products integrate with one another. It makes the competition look immature and childish. But there are times when you encounter glitches. I am as I speaking experiencing a similar glitch.
My MagicKeyboard charge dropped to 4%. After finishing some urgent early morning correspondence, I plugged in the charger cable and proceeded to have breakfast. Upon my return, I unplugged the keyboard just to find out that the charge bar had not moved. This couldn't have happened at the worst time 😱. Today is going to be a busy day with a lot of meetings and the remainder of the day for coding.
I have a backup laptop running Ubuntu, but I prefer working on my iMac. I can't stop appreciating how gorgeous that 27" screen is.
Conclusion
The chances are, although the charge bar is not moving, your MagicKeyboard, MagicTrackpad or MagicMouse is charging. I noticed that both my MagicKeyboard and MagicTrackpad have been almost fully charged after a reboot.
Next time this happens to me, I will connect and ignore the warning.
What I tried
I did a lot, not sure if any of it helped.
- Disconnected and re-connected without any luck ⓧ
- Changed the charging cable to the one I charge my iPad Mark 7 ⓧ
- Turned the devices on and off ⓧ
- Disabled and enabled Bluetooth ⓧ
- Reboot ✓
