I have a new found interest in investing. This is the result of purchasing and reading books "The Intelligent Investor - Benjamin Graham" and "A Beginners Guide to the Stock Market - Matthew R Kratter" from the Amazon store and reading on the iPad Kindle App. But being Sri Lankan I am finding it difficult to find a reliable platform to use.

Earlier I tired the Robinhood App. It required a Social Security Number (SSN) not available to a Sri Lankan unless working or studying in the US. Today I thought of giving etoro a chance.

I signed in with Google and then proceeded to complete my profile. In the second step it requested my passport number. The moment I typed in the last digit of my passport number an alert popped up that they don't service user from my demography. It asked to contact support, but I didn't bother.

So that is one more investment platform not available for Sri Lankans.
