Open-Source Commerce, Tailored to You

Spree and Solidus give you a complete Rails e-commerce platform that you own outright: no per-order platform fees and no ceiling on how far you can customise it. The trade-off is that customising it well takes Rails engineers who know its internals.

I build and extend Spree and Solidus stores, upgrade them, build headless storefronts on their APIs, and integrate the payment, tax, shipping and ERP systems behind them. Checkout is where stores lose money, and payments is where I have spent the last decade.

Track Record

10 Years Inside Payment Gateways

Since 2017 my work has been payment infrastructure: first as the sole engineer on GivingFire's gateway, then building and leading engineering at Edge Payments Technologies. Systems that move money leave no room for shortcuts, and I bring that standard to every project.

Common Questions

Spree or Solidus: which should I use? expand_more

Both are mature, open source and built on Rails. Solidus began as a fork of Spree focused on stability for larger stores; Spree has moved towards headless and multi-store commerce. I recommend one after looking at your catalogue, your integrations and your team.

Can you migrate my store from another platform? expand_more

Yes. Products, customers and order history can be migrated. Saved cards can often move too, through a PCI-compliant export from your current gateway, so returning customers don't have to enter them again.

Can you upgrade an old Spree or Solidus store? expand_more

Yes. I upgrade in steps, with tests around checkout and payments first, so the store keeps taking orders while the platform catches up.
